Google announced Pixel 4a on August 3, 2020. It succeeds the Pixel 4 released one year earlier (2018) and was replaced by Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 (5G too) which were released at the end of 2020.
Google announced the Pixel 4a 5G on September 30, 2020 for a release date set to be on November 5th, 2020.

Pixel 4a touchscreen sensitivity problems:
Many Pixel 4a users reported some sensitivity problems resulting in unresponsive scrolling and phantom touches. You can read about this issue on this Google support thread, and also on XDA Developer forums.
Pixel 4a overheating issue
Similar the the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5g, many users are reporting some overheating problems with their brand new Pixel 4a. This is a common problem, but most likely hard to be assessed and fix. Who can tell if the phone become hot, or too hot? This is a bit of a personal judgment, but when a lot of people are complaining, this is worth looking at the matter. We hope Google will keep us posted about the overheating problem.

Unexpected shutdown
Some users had a really annoying but/problem. Their smartphones just randomly shutdown and/or rebooting. You can see an example on this video. Apparently this is not a widely spread problem, so this is good. Google is sending new/replacement unit to users having this issue. We hope that Google will not send back the defective units to other users that ask for a replacement unit.

Has Google fixed the Pixel 4a issues?
Google tried to fix the sensitivity issue with an update on Android 11. It seemed to work for some users, but some others users still have the issues after doing every necessary steps to resolve it.
Is there a class action for the Pixel 4a ?
There is no class action investigation, as of November 2020.
