The upcoming Pixel 8 series will be announced on October 4th and coming out on October 11th, 2023. They will come with the Tensor G3 chipset and offer different display sizes. The Pixel 8 will have a 2400 x 1080 resolution display (427 PPI) and a smaller form factor than its predecessor, while the Pixel 8 Pro will have a 6.7″ QHD+ LTPO OLED, 12.Hz (2992 x 1344 resolution) screen (490 PPI). The Pixel 8 series will be announced at the Made by Google event on the 4th of October 2023 and will be launched a week later (11th October 2023).
After the huge success of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in 2022, Google will want to continue its momentum and offer great innovations in both hardware and software.
Pixel 8 and 8 Pro will use the new Samsung ISOCELL GN2, an upgraded version of their Wide camera model. This advanced camera comes with a larger sensor, delivering a 35% increase in light capture for superior low-light photography. It also boasts a faster shutter speed. While the camera supports 8K video recording at 30 frames per second, it’s uncertain if this feature will be utilized.
Leaks suggest that the Wide camera will feature Staggered HDR, enabling quicker capture of HDR images. The selfie camera maintains an 11-megapixel resolution. The Wide camera resolution has been enhanced to 50 megapixels. The Ultra Wide camera, incorporating a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 sensor similar to the one in the Pixel 7a, offers a 0.55% zoom ratio. Finally, the telephoto camera remains unchanged from the Pixel 7 Pro.
Unfortunately, many rumors are announcing a price increase in a lot of countries, notably in Europe.
