The Pixel 8 series has been announced on October 4th and was available from 11th, 2023. They both (Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro) come with the Tensor G3 chipset and offer different display sizes. The Pixel 8 have a 1080 x 2400 resolution display (427 PPI) and a smaller form factor than its predecessor, while the Pixel 8 Pro have a 6.7″ QHD+ LTPO OLED, 12.Hz (1344 x 2992 resolution) screen (490 PPI).
After the huge success of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in 2022, Google will want to continue its momentum and offer great innovations in both hardware and software.
Pixel 8 and 8 Pro still use the camera chipset Samsung ISOCELL GN1, while everyone was expecting an improvement with the use of the GN2 chip. We hope want to see the GN2 next year in the Pixel 9.
Unfortunately, prices are in the rise, and now start around $100 more than its predecessor the Pixel 7 series.
